TOWN HALL MEETING 2/11/12
On Saturday, February 11th, 2012 the Village of Walden will host a “Town Hall” meeting regarding the Village Square Redesign Plan in conjunction with the Orange County Citizens Foundation Placemaking Committee. This meeting will be held from 9:30am until 3:00 pm on the Third Floor of Village Hall in the Bradley Assembly Room. There will be an opportunity for public discussion & input on the changes to be made to Village Square. Just under an hour ago the Governor released his list of priority projects awarded by the Regional Economic Development Council's. The Mid Hudson Region was awarded 67 million and the WALDEN COMMUNITY COUNCIL in collaboration with the Village was awarded $337,000 to rehabilitate and revitalize 23 commercial and 8 residential mixed-use buildings, and streetscapes in the eastern half of the Village of Walden's commercial business district!!! Congrats to the Village and the Community Council for working together and the lobbying efforts made on this projects behalf. Our amphitheater project also got one of the highest grades from our regional council and the NY State Parks Department will be announcing their awards in the near future. CodeRed Implemented in Walden
CodeRED has been implemented by the Town of Montgomery & its three Villages. In the event of an environmental or man made disaster, an emergency notification system is now in place town wide. This program will also be used to alert residents to weather related cancellations and delays as well. Please listen closely should you receive a call from this automated service on our behalf. Look for the CodeRED logo on our website, click on a logo to register additional phone numbers (work, cell) you would like used in the event of an emergency. This is very similar to the program used by school districts and is highly effective and efficient. Please read the attached PRESS RELEASE and FAQs
Walden Tree Lighting 12/3 7pm

Additional Leaf Pick Up 12/9
There will be a FINAL LEAF PICK UP on December 9th. If residents still have leaves to dispose of after this date, they should contact the Orange County Transfer Station, Taylor Recycling or a private clean-up firm at their own cost.

All related programs at the Gym are continuing on schedule going forward.
