Please be advised that per Resolution 29-14-15 of the Board of Trustees effective May 1, 2015 Water/Sewer customer rates will be increased as follows for each metered user:
Users Inside Village Limits:
Water: $10.00 per quarter for a basic usage service fee plus $4.50 per 100 cubic feet with a minimum quarterly charge of $14.50.
Sewer:$12.00 per quarter for a basic usage service fee plus $5.25 per 100 cubic feet with a minimum quarterly charge of $17.25.
Users Outside Village Limits:
Water: $10.00 per quarter per metered service connection as and for a basic usage service fee plus $9.50 per 100 cubic feet with a minimum quarterly charge of $19.50.
Sewer: $12.00 per quarter for a basic usage service fee plus $10.50 per 100 cubic feet with a minimum quarterly charge of $22.50.
This increase will be reflected in your September Water/Sewer invoice as it takes effect during the Water/Sewer usage period beginning May 1, 2015.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF WALDEN
RESOLUTION NO. 29-14-15
WHEREAS, the Village of Walden heretofore duly convened a public hearing on April 21, 2015 for the purpose of considering an increase in the water and sewer billings in the Village of Walden notice of which was duly published in the official newspaper of the Village ; and
WHEREAS, the increase is required as a result of increased costs in the operation and maintenance of the Village water and sewer facilities as well increased costs resulting from directives issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (“DEC”); and
WHEREAS, after conducting the public hearing and receiving input from the public as well as considering information provided by the Village Treasurer and Village Engineer the Village Board determines that increases are necessary to fund the anticipated future costs of providing water and sewer services; and
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby
RESOLVED, that the rate for Water Charges commencing May 1, 2015 is hereby fixed at $10.00 per quarter per metered service connection as and for a basic usage service fee plus $4.50 per 100 cubic feet for properties located within the Village with a minimum quarterly charge of $14.50 per metered service connection if usage is below $4.50 per 100 cubic feet and is hereby fixed at $10.00 per quarter per metered service connection as and for a basic usage service fee plus $9.50 per 100 cubic feet for properties located outside of the Village with a minimum quarterly charge of $19.50 per metered service connection if usage is below $9.50 per 100 cubic feet; and it is further
RESOLVED, that the rate for Sewer charge commencing May 1, 2015 is hereby fixed at $12.00 per quarter per metered service connection as and for a basic usage service fee plus $5.25 per 100 cubic feet for water usage for properties located within the Village with a minimum quarterly charge of $17.25 per metered service connection if water usage is below $5.25 per 100 cubic feet and is hereby fixed at $12.00 per quarter per metered service connection as and for a basic usage service fee plus $10.50 per 100 cubic feet for water usage for properties located outside of the Village with a minimum quarterly charge of $22.50 per metered service connection if usage is below $10.50 per 100 cubic feet;
MOTION to adopt by Deputy Mayor Hoffman and seconded by Trustee Sebring. The vote was 7 ayes to 0 nays with 0 abstentions. The Mayor declared the resolution adopted on April 21, 2015.
